A Must Read If You Struggle to Lose Weight

Easy weight gain and difficulty losing weight may be attributed to obesogens. These are chemicals found in our food supply, cleaning products, personal hygiene products and more. Obesognes are endocrine disrupting chemicals that cause you and your hound to produce more body fat.; they block the body's ability to use fat as a source of energy. Sugar is an example but phthalates, BPA, food additives, pesticides, and plastic toys also contain these fat contributing substances. It is clear that weight loss is not just about diet and exercise.

What to do?

  • Avoid plastic food storage containers and store food in glass instead. And especially avoid heating foods in plastic. This includes those all too convenient tv-dinners. Place the food in an oven safe stainless steel pan and cook that way.

  • Use EWG's personal care product evaluator for safe cosmetics and personal hygiene alternatives.

  • Use cast iron or stainless steel cookware.

  • Eat whole foods and organic when possible.

  • Reduce consumption of meat and increase plant based meals.

  • Avoid foods that contain additives, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial flavors/colorants.

  • Use natural cleaning and laundry products.

  • Filter your water.

  • Work with a Natural Health Provider to develop a detox program that is right for you.

  • Use herbs and homeopathic remedies instead of pharmaceuticals when appropriate.

  • Purchase chemical free toys for Fido and feed him a species appropriate diet.
